Adding and Syncing Notes Across Platforms

You have the convenience of adding notes to your documents on both the mobile app and the web app. What's even better is that your notes are seamlessly synced across both platforms. This means that any note you add on one platform will automatically be accessible on the other, ensuring you have all your important annotations and reminders at your fingertips, regardless of the device you're using. To add a note, simply navigate to the "Add New" option within the app or website where you're currently working. Once you've added your notes, they'll be saved and synced, ready for you to access from any device where you're logged into your Listening.com account. This feature is designed to enhance your productivity and learning experience, making it easier for you to keep track of important information and insights as you listen to your documents on the go or from the comfort of your home.

Change Voice

Whether you're using the Listening.com mobile app or the web app, adjusting the voice settings is a breeze. In this guide, we'll walk you through the simple steps to customize your reading experience to your liking. 1. Open the Listening.com app on your device. 2. Tap on the Settings icon (for mobile app users) OR your name icon in the upper right corner of the page then select Setting (for web app users). 3. You'll be able to see the Voice Settings and select your preferred voice from the list of available options. Please note that any changes to the voice setting will only apply to new uploads. If you want documents already uploaded to be read in the new voice, you'll need to re-upload them.

Convert Email to Audio

With the Forward Email feature on Listening.com, you can effortlessly convert emails into audio format, allowing you to stay productive while on the move. In this article, we'll guide you through the simple steps to utilize this convenient feature, ensuring that you can listen to your emails wherever and whenever you please. 1. Open the email you'd like to foward to the Listening app. 2. Click on the forward email icon. 3. In the "To" field, enter listen@mail.listening.io. Please make sure that the email you're sending from (on your email's "From" field) matches the one associated with your Listening account. 4. Hit "Send" to forward your email for audio conversion. Installing the Listening.com Chrome Extension

Enhance your browsing and reading experience with the Listening.com Chrome Extension, designed to seamlessly convert text to audio directly from your browser. Here's how to install it: 1. You can find the extension by searching for "Listening.com" in the Chrome Web Store, or simply by visiting the direct link to our extension here: Listening.com Chrome Extension. 2. Once you're on the extension page, click the "Add to Chrome" button. A confirmation dialog will appear, asking if you want to add the extension. 3. Confirm by clicking "Add Extension." The installation process will begin, and within moments, the Listening.com icon will appear in your Chrome toolbar, indicating successful installation. With the Listening.com Chrome Extension installed, you're ready to start converting web-based text into audio with ease, making information more accessible and multitasking more efficient.

How do I sign up for a free trial on Listening.com?

You can try Listening for free before deciding whether to subscribe. To start your free trial: 1. Visit Listening.com and click “Try now for free.” 2. Create your account using your email and password. 3. Enter your payment information to activate the trial. You will not be charged during the free trial period. Your payment method is only used to start your subscription after the trial ends if you choose to continue using Listening. 1. Download the Listening app from your device’s app store, or continue using Listening on the web. 2. Log in and start using Listening during your free trial. Will I be charged during the free trial? No. You will not be charged during the free trial. Billing only begins after the trial ends, unless you cancel before the trial period finishes. Why do I need to enter payment information? Payment information is required to activate the free trial and ensure your subscription continues seamlessly if you decide to keep using Listening. You can cancel anytime before the trial ends and you will not be charged.

Converting Content into Audio

Listening.com makes it easy to turn documents, web pages, emails, and other content into natural-sounding audio so you can listen instead of read. Getting Started On Mobile (iOS & Android) 1. Open the Listening app. 2. Tap the + button at the bottom of the screen. 3. Choose how you'd like to add content. On Web 1. Sign in to your Listening account. 2. From your library or dashboard, choose how you'd like to add content. Ways to Add Content Upload PDF Upload a PDF file from your device and convert it into audio. 1. Select Upload PDF. 2. Choose a PDF file from your device. 3. Wait for the document to finish processing. 4. Once ready, it will appear in your library and can be played like any other audio. Best for: Research papers, articles, ebooks, reports, and class materials. Link to Web Page or PDF Convert an online article, website, or PDF into audio. 1. Select Link to Web Page or PDF. 2. Paste the URL of the webpage or online PDF. 3. Submit the link. 4. Listening.com will process the content and add it to your library. Best for: News articles, blog posts, online research, and publicly accessible PDFs. Paste Text Convert copied text directly into audio. 1. Select Paste Text. 2. Paste the text you'd like to listen to. 3. Create the audio version. 4. The content will be added to your library once processing is complete. Best for: Notes, emails, article excerpts, summaries, and written drafts. Scan Pages Use your device's camera to turn physical pages into audio. Available on mobile devices only. 1. Select Scan Pages. 2. Take clear photos of the pages you want to listen to. 3. Review the scanned pages if prompted. 4. Listening.com will extract the text and create an audio version. Best for: Printed books, handouts, study materials, and documents that aren't available digitally. Tip: For the best results, make sure the pages are well-lit and the text is clearly visible. Forward an Email Turn emails and newsletters into audio automatically. 1. Select Forward an Email. 2. Copy your unique Listening email address. 3. Forward emails or newsletters to that address. 4. The content will be processed and added to your library. Best for: Newsletters, long emails, industry updates, and reading lists. Import from Zotero Import PDFs and documents directly from your Zotero library. 1. Select Zotero. 2. Connect your Zotero account if prompted. 3. Choose the documents you'd like to import. 4. Listening.com will process the selected documents and add them to your library. Best for: Researchers, students, and anyone managing academic papers in Zotero. After Importing Content Once your content has finished processing, you can: - Listen using your preferred voice - Adjust playback speed - Skip forward or backward - Continue listening across devices - Organize content in your library Processing Time Most content is ready within a few minutes. Larger documents or more complex content may take longer to process. Troubleshooting My content is still processing - Check your internet connection. - Refresh the app or webpage. - Wait a few additional minutes for larger documents. My content failed to process This may happen if: - The file is corrupted. - The document is password-protected. - The webpage is inaccessible. - The content contains limited readable text.
